To my knowledge, Pontiac did not have a numbering system of any kind for the 2000/2000 Pace Car Editions. I heard a rumor that they were either done sequentially and went from one specific vin number to another until all were built, but I've never been able to confirm this. Really wish they had done something to mark them. Kind of like the turbo Dodges, CSX, Shelby GLH and GLHS, that Carroll Shelby built at his Whittier plant were all numbered, whereas the Lancer Shelby, Daytona Shelby etc, had no numbering system. I've heard of a few people that removed the graphics for stealth reasons or because they didn't like them. Hell, if you didn't like the graphics, why did you buy the car? I'm not a big fan of the aftermarket ram air hoods on the GTP. The fact that ram air does nothing performance wise and I just don't like the look. The 2000 Daytona hood with the heat extractors looks awesome. Plus, they are actually functional. $160 for the graphics isn't bad at all, if that includes all of them. Might have to look into getting a set myself, just to have around. Will keep trying to find the console plaque. Only checked one stealership here in Jacksonville so far. Might even look into having one made. I don't have a good picture of one and I've never seen on in person. From what I can tell, it's just on a thin piece of brushed aluminum. There is a flag shaped piece of dark blue plastic about 1/2 inch thick where mine should. Any chance you could get a good closeup pic of your console plaque and email it to me? I'd truly appreciate it. My email address is jngrnel@bellsouth.net. Hope you didn't think I was questioning wether your Daytona was a Daytona or not. Have no doubts at all that it is. Yours is about the 10th I've seen with no graphics. I've seen 3 here in Jacksonville alone. It's way too much trouble and too expensive to make knockoffs of these beautys right now. Now, 20 years from now, who knows. Not sure if there was any special literature or paperwork that came with these when purchased new. Wish there was, and wish there was a way to get it if you currently own the car, but aren't the original owner. Nice Bonni by the way. My brother has a 2001 SSEi. He drove from Virginia to Tampa, Fl at Christmas time to our parents house. Noticed he had a belt hanging down when he pulled up. Asked him if he noticed a power loss and he asked how I knew. Dude there's a belt hanging down and your car only has 2 belts. One drives everything except the supercharger, the other only drives the sc. Seeing as how the car is still running, it's pretty easy to figure that the sc belt got tossed. Thanks for the info, Gary
