First of all, please excuse my English; I speak
Spanish.
I live in Uruguay, South
America and I am 20 years old.
All of this restoration was an experiment for me,
because I know little about restoring a car.
This restoration was totally done at my home, not in a
professional workplace. This was the best that I
could do.
This is my 1972 FORD CAPRI (exact model: 1972 German
Ford Capri Pre-Facelift MK1 “Puma”). I bought it in
January 2005. The car was really wrecked when I
bought it. It had a 2300cc COLOGNE V6.
Because I like these cars so much, I am trying to
restore the Capri myself. The first thing that I did
was strip off the paint (the car had 7 layers of
paint). I worked a lot on this. The next step was
to work with fiberglass filler in some parts such as
the trunk and the underside of the car. After that, I
painted the doors, the trunk, the hood and the roof.
Then, I painted the sides of the car.
The next step is to paint the car. I am going to
paint the Capri black whith 2 white stripes down the
center of the car (like a Camaro Rallye RS or a Chevy
Chevelle).
I could really used your advice to continue improving my capri
I painted some parts and put the car in height.
THERE IS ONE SIDE IN PROCESS AND THE OTHER FINISHED
Here is the front just a "little" low.
Well i paint the unibody, looks very good to be the first time i paint a car.
I paint the second layer of black and put 2 lineas of PAPERS to see how going to see a real rally lines in the car, in the computer i test diferent colors but i think the white is the best.
I finish the left door, they took me a lot of work,(THE GLASS
TOOK ME A LOT OF WORK) A LOTTT.
the next step is give him shine
Tell me, dont look like a gangster car door?
I took off the differential, and (i dont now the word) use a process that involved sand at high speed.
LOOK IT AFTER WORK ON IT
The car have new shoes.
now, me and a body going to low the back of the car, we do it, putting a pieze of wood beetwen the differential and the suspencion,
In the pictue, we are probing how low going to be,
and... there is, what do you think?
i paint the hood;
and pulish it, in some parts..
the process took me a lot of time, if you check the date im going more than a year.
i dismantle the front suspencion to take off the rusty and paint it.
then, (i dont now the word) use a process that involved sand at high speed.
then i paint all the suspencion, and change the o´ring of the brake pistons!!!
and fixed
well, the car have new shoes, it is a 15 inch, whit 195/55/15 tires,
