One problem I always had with this car was water leaks. Rain, car washes, you name it and the carpet would be soaked. After getting all new seals, recaulking the windshield, rear window, under the dash, and the seams in the fiberglass, I decided to see if I had the "rare" and "early" holes cut in my fiberglass body behind the speaker panels. Yes indeed, lucky me once again. Once I removed the speaker panels and stuck a hose back in the engine compartment, I could see water trickling in. This in turn was responsible for soaking my carpets and filling the storage box behind the driver seat with water.
Here is a picture of the hole on each side (originally designed for ventillation, but later eliminated by the factory for wind noise and rain leaks):

What you can see through the hole above is the unbrushed backside of the stainless steel quarterpanel.

I re-fiberglassed and painted over the holes (and got a bit of the wiring black, but who will ever see it?)
