The engine looked decent for a 25 year old car when I got it.

But after a year of driving, I didn't trust the old hoses or the waterpump. Thus I undertook a big task of replacing the pump. Below is the "Valley Of Death" as some owners call it, and it was obvious I had an antifreeze leak back there, as well as more evidence of mice. Ken K. was a HUGE help in getting this project accomplished.

As long as the top of the engine was torn apart, I decided to paint my intake and air horns to make them look new. The results were fantastic.

Here is the engine put back together (Note the new DMC sticker on the airbox. I think that looks nicer than the small one I used to have):

Once everything else looked nice, I noticed how bad the cold start valve and the sensor on the water pump looked. I took a Dremel with a buffing wheel and some metal polish, and they really cleaned up well considering 25 years of corrosion on them.
