I have wanted an MR2 since I was 8 years old, and now I have one, for better or for worse. Yesterday a blew the motor in a big way. The motor is knocking worse than any car I've ever heard, I can actually hear pieces coming off the bearing and hitting the oil pan. I'm no expert, but IMHO, thats bad. Car made me proud though. Got 186727 miles, and last december I got a 14.825 @ 90.549 mph. The mods I have done include a Monza quad-tip cat back exhaust, custom intake utilizing a side scoop (not pictured), 1985 300zx airfilter housing, Nology Hotwires spark plug wires, MSD Blaster 2 coil, NST 180mm oversized crank pulley, 16 inch rims with 205/45 V rated Hankooks (sticky), tan interior swapped for black, HID headlights, HID foglights, OEM foglight switch imported from Britain, ugly green cluster lights swapped out for blue LEDs, Exedy Stage 1 racing clutch, and boost gauge. The car was WAY faster than stock, but I guess the old motor couldn't take it. I just bought a JDM 4AGZE for $1000, so soon it'll be up and going again.UPDATE The motor has been in since January and is running great! Still leaks oil (damn dizzy!!!) but she still runs like a bat outa hell. I haven't reached my old best time yet, but I think it is just because it's too hot and cuz I don't race it much anymore.
