The old Holden was originally my Dads car, and was second hand to him. I scored her for free when my Dad updated to a Mitsubishi Pajero. You can tell I got it for free ^_^ She's been a daily driver since 1979, but has had the original trimatic replaced, along with the motor at 200,000km. The Kingswood's now done 369,900km, but drives fairly well for such a car.
Yes, that is a tyre bolted to the roof.
It's got a little rust here and there - we've neutralised it and we're in the process of cleaning that up, and respraying over the paint work. When I say "in the process of", I really mean that I've only done one panel just yesterday afternoon.
Inside she's had a bit done here and there. The roof lining started to fall, so i glued that back up. I recently installed a Panasonic 40w x4 CD player that I salvaged from Dads car on replacement of his sound system. It's not exactly ear bleeding, but has an input for my MP3 player, so I'm never bored for music. It's good for about 110dB (85dB sensitivity speakers @ 8ohm, 5 foot centre). Nothing but the best for my car. She's got brown $10 seat covers, and very fashionable rubber floor mats. Easier to clean, anyway.
Bolted to the floor. Wouldn't fit anywhere else :(
I love my car not because she's a speed demon, or that she's particularly attractive, but because she's a classic. There's something about all that chrome, and classic style that draws me to it, or any car of it's age for that matter. It has character that other new cars just don't. She's an easy cruiser, and never feels stressed on the highway. It's also easy to work on!
