Timing belt time!
The timing belt was easy. Then after looking at it I realized the intake was pretty bad. Youll see.
I use Amsoil and will continue to do so forever after I pulled the valve cover and saw this...

Here is the vacuum pump off and the cam lock tool installed. I didnt use it for torque at all.

Clean towel to prevent F.O.D., If you work for the government you know exactly what that stands for.

Inner wheel well off. I definatly have to slot the wheel well liner for the intercooler. It sits about 1 inch away from the liner.

Using the jack to get the motor mount apart...

This is the "throttle" body. It contains an anti-shudder plate and an EGR valve but no throttle. This is only after 85 thousand miles so if you havent cleaned the intake yet I would recommend it. The second pic is the intake manifold, the opening was about the size of my thumb.

To see the timing mark I had to undo this hose.

New water pump in the front and old one in the back. There was some pink leakage so it was a good thing the dieselgeek kit came with a new one.

New tensioner, rollers and water pump installed.

New timing belt on. You can kind of see the crank and injection pump tools installed in this picture.

I forgot to take pics of the clean intake because it was a pain in the ass and the last thing I wanted to do was take pictures. I did get it very clean using first a screwdriver and some wooden dowels. Then a combination of carb cleaner and the power sprayer at the car wash. It worked awesome and the intake was close to clean as new. The timing was so far off in this car it would take a battery killing amount of time to start it when it was cold out. Somehow, when I timed the belt I got the injection timing dead on. I didnt have to adjust anything and now it starts in 2 cranks even when its cold. An ACTUAL pic of me setting the timing on the pump when i got it right.

The timing belt itself probably would have taken me about 6 hours if I had not cleaned the intake and this was my first time doing it. Im disabling the EGR as far as possible with vag-com and I am going to build a CCV mod so I never have to clean the bastard intake again. That sucked.

Next up G60/VR6 clutch...

Love the TDI. I really like the Diesel return lines were you get them and was it hard to change? Mine have this slight leak on then so I have to change them.

Lol, thanks Hondoo. When Im done it will be about 180hp and 300 ft/lbs of torque and will do about mid 14s in the 1/4 mile. Not to mention killer 40 to 130mph times. I got a bug since its fun to beat people with a gay car, haha.

Don't let people call you gay because of this, that is one masculine bug.
