New Pictures and discussion as of July 2008: We just got the truck back after having the engine overhauled again (3x in 2 years). This engine was built by a Automazing.com in Westfield, IN. The 235 has a custom grind cam for low end torque. We also added a Tremec 600 5-speed with overdrive (.68 in 5th gear). She's sporting her new wide whites too. How do you like the new look?
We bought this truck off eBay in March 2004. It was originally an Air Force truck out of Charlotte, NC. It was supposed to have only 18,000 miles. (We're not totally convinced that's true but it is pretty clean.) The below pictures are as she looked when we got her.

Well, it's November 18th, 2007 and I haven't shared any shots with you since we started working on this truck. Let me tell you about some of the things you can't see:
1. We replaced the ring and pinion. We converted from 3.90 to 3.55 gear. That's much better on the highway.
2. I swapped the motor from solid lifter to hydraulic lifter 235. It's been rebuilt twice in the last year (not a good thing).
3. She's got all new wiring and converted to alternator and HEI.
4. I replaced the springs with single leave springs that dropped her 2.5".
Now for some current pictures. She's dirty today but it doesn't seem to show up too badly in the shots.
She's been lowered 2.5 " and I changed the hubcaps. I haven't decided what to do about wheels and tires yet. I'm still working on the grill.
The bed boards and rails are oak and stained dark. I replaced the stainless pieces in the floor.

The interior had a big hole in the dash for the Air Force radio and holes in the glovebox door for a data plate. I've repaired that. It has an Audiovox AM/FM radio with electric antenna and speaker in the original place between the sun visors. I did install a right visor too.

I installed an 11" clutch. The headers are Fenton and the mufflers are Flowmaster 40's. The intake is Offenhauser and the carbs are progressive 2bbl Holley/Webers. The distributor is HEI from Tom Langdon. I believe it was converted from a V6 S10.
