Updates! 4/23/07 Here are some pictures of the firewall and cowl area being smoothed. I'm having them painted so I can put the front clip back on and install the drivetrain. Then I'll send it back to be finished. I hope to have it home by the first of May. Stay tuned!
Updates! 10/13/06. More to come.
Updates! 10/13/06
I've decided to start over, so I had the entire car media blasted and discovered more body damage. Which I'm not very happy about! Since I was told there was no rust in the body or holes in the dash.
So now In addition to having to replace passenger side quarter from the previous replacement, I have to replace the drivers side quarter panel. The dash has a few additional holes, 14 to be exact. Looks like the the idiot was testing out drill bits.
You just never know what your going to uncover on a 43 year old car. It's currently in the body shop.
I'm hoping to have most of the body work done by Jan, or early Feb., and start reassembling it?
As soon as it gets started I'll get some more pictures to post.
These are pictures of the car after being media blasted and a coat of epoxy primer.
Picture of the drivers side quarter panel being replaced.
Two days after I delievered it to the 1st body shop. My biggest mistake.
Ready to start pulling the engine. 11/20/05
Replacing the passanger side quarter panel. It has to be replaced again. The A-hole (Garette Leake) that put it on didn't know what the hell he was doing. Talked a good game, but the end result has to be replaced. It's really a shame people aren't very honest in this business. It's also a shame it's not legal to stomp a mud hole in people that are this shady!
Yuck!!
Notice the difference in the two? And to think I paid this a-hole (Garette Leake ) for this! AND, he wanted more money!
More Shitty bodywork. This is the finished package tray! Unbelievable!! He just laid it over the rotted piece and spot welded it in. I guess that's how he was taught to replcae rusty metal?
The guy didn't bother to check if the window would roll up properly! It's been adjusted every way possible, and this is as close as it gets.
Quarter doesn't sit square, or parallel to the rocker. Notice the fin? He put the quarter on about 1/4 inch too high. And, the whole thing goes up hill from the back to the front. Not to mention its sitting back almost a quarter inch too far. I'm not sure who the bigger idiot is, the guy that did this work, or Me for hiring this douche bag? I'll post pics of the entire quarter panel replacment in weeks to come. Stay tuned.
Doorjambs that weren't preped.
