This is my LX sedan.
It is an original SL/R. I bought it in 2004 when I was 17. Back then it had a rebuilt 308 with the toploader and 9" already installed. I picked it up for $3000. Since then I have put in the 355 and cut a hell of allot of rust out. Any panel with rust was replaced.
All work was done by my self and my father, except for major machine work. But I did clearance the block and port and polish the heads and manifolds.

Engine:
Engine Combination: 355 stroker crank with 350 chev I beam rods and chev 383 pistons.
Heads: l34 valves, port and polish and have been shaved quite a bit. Have blown three sets of head gaskets while giving a thrashing. Eventually I had to go to SCE copper gaskets.
Valve Train: Full Crane. Crane 288 solid cam, dual springs, retainers, locks etc.
Oil System: Dual oil filter relocation kit and hi-performance oil cooler from America. I run Penrite HPR50.
Ignition: Mallory dual point and Accel super coil running trough 10HT leads. I will eventually go to a full Crane ignition
Shifter: On the toploader I am running a Vertical Gate Shifter. This make changing a breeze.
Clutch: I run a hydraulic clutch system. I have a ceramic button clutch plate and hi-pressure pressure plate.
Sic Bugcatcher
The whole deal has taken a while, but as a uni student I am often hard up for cash. I hope to have more photos up soon.
Here are some old photos. I think this was the 3rd headgasket change, before going to copper.

Thats a big blow.

The Old Beast has had a bit of an upgrade. Looks good, but is getting a new coat soon.
