Okay so I didn't make you wait very long. So far here's what I have:
This car was part of an order of 127 North Carolina State police cars sold through the Sir Walter Raleigh dealership. The NC State police could not accept delivery because the two-tone paint was applied upside down (reversed). Rather than repaint all of the cars, the dealership offered them for public sale. Never saw a single days worth of Police Duty.
Photocopy of Newspaper article citing the mistaken paintjobs: Photocopy of Original Window Sticker.

The car was kept meticulously... it looks like it just came off the line yesterday. You could literaly eat off the floors. *not that I would allow food into such a car in the first place* The paint job itself is a conversation peice, and looks sharp as heck if you ask me.
Interior shots. Spot on floor in drivers seat is water, it's actually quite clean.

The motor of course, is the same as that years Corvette, which happens to be the LT1. 260 est. Horsepower in Michigan state police road tests! (Sorry wasn't able to upload an Adobe document, you will have to google it or ask me for a copy of it).

Per permission of the original owner, here are a couple of pictures of the car next to one of the revised state trooper vehicles in 1996. It looks like they literally shaved off the tops of both cars, and switched them haha.
