RIPP saw this as an excellent platform and simple expanded on it. In stock form these cars produced about 200hp, but when put tot he test the only put down about 180whp. Couple that to the size and weight (16ft long and 3300lbs, the little 5 cylinder didn't exactly move the car along swiftly.

But there was hope, the euro counter parts had 225hp, so a simple re-mapping of the ECU brought you right back up there. RIPP took a different route,

The car landed a center fold spot in Turbo magazine and winning a few club events at Watkins Glen motor way during Audi Club events and eventually closed a quarter mile of 13.28@108mph, not bad for an old car with old technology. I believe it was a lead in to the four door boy racers of today (WRX, EVO ect) cutting its teeth on the road race courses all over Europe known as the European touring car challenge and dominating it. My rendition of an Audi 5000TQ is this; M5 performance and all the style of todays Quattro Sport, with all the classic Audi preserved in what is to me the first ever S4 produced.

I think I can call my car an S car..what do you think?

PS: Keep the comments coming, I love hearing and seeing the older Audi blood line being kept alive on Cardomain, its opened a whole new world of enthusiasts to me, especially all of you in Europe who appreciate my style and work, thanks to all of you it really means a lot to me.
