Here is my 2004 Dodge SRT-4.

There is a Story behind my car. I bought it brand new off the lot in late 03. When it hit 600 miles I took it to the track to see what I could get out of it. I was rewarded with a 13.8 @ 101. I noticed that when launching this car it got very bad wheelhop which needed to be corrected if I wanted to keep coming to the track, so I opted to buy a set of Dog Bone Motor Mounts for the top and bottom. Tested the car on the street and the wheelhop problem was taken care of.
Before going back to the track I decided I wanted more power out of it to see if I could get it down into the lower 13's. So doing some research and knowing that the srt's run extremly rich from the start I knew I could turn the boost up a little and that should get me going in the right direction. So I purchased a turbosmart manual boost controller for the car. I performed all the things to properly install the unit and then started to dial it in, But it was very hard to get it to do what I wanted so the factory watsegate actuator had to go!! I went with the AGP model and it was very easy to dial it in to 15psi to redline right where I wanted it. So with 15psi the car was performing very well but I wanted more!!! So I decided to go with a Wet Nitrous Kit from NOS. I started out with a 50 shot, Installed the kit, But before I went to the track to beat on it I thought It be better to get a full 3" Turbo Back exhaust so there would be no restrictions on the exhaust side. I went to the track and on 15psi no nitrous was rewarded with a 13.5 @ 105. Next run I decided to cut it loose and fire the juice. Left the line in first and as soon as I got into 2nd and hit the spray it went right to 6 grand!!! I aborted the run because I thought I had just smoked the clutch. What had happened was major wheel spin!!! So got home from the track and ordered up a set of BFG Drag Radials!! Went back to the track and after a couple of runs I was rewarded with a 12.6 @ 115 with a 2.0 60'. Car was still getting horrble traction even on the drag radials.
At this point I was happy with the performance with the car on nitrous but ofcoarse wanted more off the bottle. My goal was to get a high 12 on boost only and then up the nitrous and maybe hit and eleven on juice. To do it on boost I bought a TXS Map Clamp to trick the computer so I could run 18psi. I also bought a set of NGK plugs and Magnecore 8.5mm wires for better spark. With everthing on the car I took it to the track and got the car to run into the 12's with a 12.9 @ 107/108 60' would stay at 2.0.
Now with the car kicking butt on boost, I would turn my attention to getting it to run a bottom 12 or maybe into the elevens!! At this time Mopar just came out with stage 2 for the srt-4. Stage 2 consisted of Bigger Injectors, 3 Bar Map Sensor, 3 Bar TIP Sensor, Complete ECU, and a Stiffer Wastegate Acuator. So I was like this is great I will get more fuel, more boost, bigger map sensor so no need to trick the computer anymore to run more boost. So I bought stage 2 thinking that I would be safe running a 75 shot or even a 100 shot. Well as soon as I put stage 2 on, whenever I hit the juice the car would go lean and run like crap. So I went threw a serious of things to try and get more fuel in it. I went with a walbro 255hp pump, That did not work. I went with a perrin fuel rail, That didn't work. Started messing with the jets, That didn't work. I even changed both the nitrous and fuel solonoids for new ones and checked all power and ground wires, That didn't work. Finally I took and deleted the fuel solonoid from my system and made it a dry shot. That worked!!!! Did not like the idea that it worked as a dry and not as wet, So I began researching all possibility's to try and get the system to work. Well one day I got it to work, or what felt like it was working on the wet shot. Car felt amazing. I was on my way to the dyno, I warmed up the bottle on my way and hit it to make sure it was not acting up and boom!!! The car blew up!!! This is the destruction that happens when the boost overspikes on nitrous.

I also found out after the fact the the real culprute of this mess up was the stage 2 ECU. I found out that the stage 2 ecu really has way different timing/fuel maps then the stage 0/1 computers. I also know that other stage 2 cars are running nitrous with success but my car for some reason did not react well with the stage 2 plus nitrous setup. So needless to say off came the Nitrous and In went new motor!!!
After all this happened I decided to go just boost only and wanted to make around the area of 450whp. So doing some research brought me to Hahn Racecraft. Here it is the Super 20g Kit for the SRT-4!!!

Before Installation I got rid of the full 3" Turboback and went for a Needswings SS 3" Downpipe With Electric Cutout and put the stock catback on to bring noise levels down but increase performanace when opened.

Also because of the different turbokit I was about to install I was in need of a different BOV setup. I opted for an HKS SSQV with a Custom Aluminum Pipe inbetween the stock upper pressure pipe. All I can say is WOW this thing sounds crazy!!!

Now time for the install of the 20g!!!

FINISHED!!!!

As of 1/16/2006 with the turbo kit on a week and only running about 15psi it is a whole different car!!! Amazing spool for a bigger turbo, Amazing power for the boost level that I am on, Just totally fun to drive. Thank You Hahn Racecraft!!!
Well that is the story of my SRT-4
Mods to come in the future will be the Hahn Racecraft Port Fueler Setup. This will alow me to run upwards of 26psi on my 20G and get me to that 450+ WHP level that I seek.

Just want to say thank's to My wife for putting up with me threw all my car obssessions.
Thanks to Hahn Racecraft for making a kick ass turbo kit for the srt-4. I highly recommend to anyone looking to go with a aftermarket turbo kit.

UPDATE: 1/3/2007
The portfueler was put on my car and running great. At 20-21psi the car is a monster, Have not had the chance to dyno it. That will come in the 07 season. In September of 06 I was in an accident with the car that caused some damage to the front bumber, fender, headlights. So Now the car is being completely torn down to fix the damage ofcoarse but also to add the addition of some more performance parts for the upcoming season. My car is no longer my daily transportation, I have aquired a 1993 VW Corrado SLC (VR6 Motor) that is my daily driver. So the srt is now and forever the garage queen/weekend warrior/track & show car..
PROJECT RESURRECTION Has Begun!!!
