AND NOW FOR THE GOOD STUFF!!

This is the man behind the body work! My good friend Mr. Erwin Remple with "the gentle presuader".

Here is the frame after sandblasting, fixing rust and then powdercoating. You may be able to see the ridiculasly huge "X" member that is convertable spacific. The plates are HUGE 1/4" steel. It looks as though they salvaged this frame from a bridge.

Ahhh, the crem-de-la-crem! The factory installed, numbers matching, T10 four speed trans! This is a Mercury Park Lane CONVERTABLE, concidered the luxury flag ship for the Merc name plate, which is why the standared trans seems so odd and out of place. The manual trans was the cheaper "less desierable" trans when compaired to the automatic, yet it still found it's way into this lux-o-boat! Some guy wanted luxury AS WELL as driving fun!

The lower control arm, which I am told is special in that it is a "performance" control arm. All the bushings and steering components are ALL O.E.M. vintage stuff still in the factory boxes.

Here is a shot of the passenger compartment after ALLOT of splicing, fabricating and welding! This is befor epoxy and truck bed liner. There are floor sections from 2 different cars here as well as a bunch of fabed pieces. It is way solid and totaly rust free!

A look down the side of the drivers side. A bit obstructed with all the crap on it, but you get the idea of the lines and the streightness of that huge piece of real estate.
