Rear end is out of a 1960 Ventura or any large body Pontiac or Olds. I started out with a 4:56 but spun the ring gear off the posi-unit. That pumpkin was set up professionally.I set up the 3:90 that is in it now and it seems to pull harder than it did with the 4:56. The rear is narrowed as far as possible without moving the leaf springs. I installed after market sway bars, front an rear, the car corners and handles well. Also installed Energy Suspension bushings throughout the car. Be sure you lube the 'A' frame bushings well because they will squeak. Mine is terrible. Also replaced flexable brakelines with braided hoses. This is one of the really neat things about the car. I can open or close the headers with a switch in my ash tray. You can also see the Gear Vendors unit. This photo was at the muffler shop. I put Magna Flow mufflers on it. It has the old muscle car sound instead of the weird Flow master sound.
New exhaust with cross-over pipe.I run with the headers open 99% of the time. Just close them in the plat. I don't want to make the neighbors mad. Plus my next door neighbor is a local Police officer. He likes my car.
Early photo of motor meeting car. This is the best way to install the motor. you can fine tune everything as you go. The coil that you see setting on the front of the frame is mounted under the dash to keep engine compartment simple.
