Here is my 1981 DeLorean. I had wanted one of these since I was five. In 2002 I had the oppertunity, so I jumped on it and brought this car home! This car is a major departure from the small, two seat roadsterso that normally occupy my garage. It has been suprisingly reliable and fairly issue-free. I have enjoyed doing he slight modification here and there, nothing extreme or major though. I want to get the lowering springs for th efront end, that is my next project.
The exterior is nearly 100% stock except for the Stainless Steel Letters in the Rear Bumper, a set of DMC Valve Caps and the Grill Mounted Fog Lights. In the future I may have the wheel chromed.

The interior has the Stainless Steel Door Entry Plates, a Dash Cover to protect against those common DeLorean Dash Cracks, an Alpine Sound System and a custom Made Team Voodoo Glazed Stainless Steel Shift Knob. Team Voodoo is a maker of awsoem aftermarket shift knobs for the Mazda Miata (another car I collect). The owner of the company agreed to make this one of a kind shift knob for my DeLorean. Infact, my car is featured on their website (teamvoodoo.com)!
The engine and mechanicals ae all stock except for that all Engine Labels were replaced with Stainless Steel versions and the Coolant Bottle was replaced with a metal unit. I also added a FanZilla Control module. Other than that, it is all stock!

Due to the DeLorean's infamous and questionable reliability I am often asked what has gone wrong with my car. Suprisingly, verylittle! I have only had two problems with this car. The first happened back in late 2002 whaen an Air Conditioning Hose tore. the amazing folks at DeLorean Motor Center replaced it in just a couple of hours, gave me a Re-Charge and it has been fine ever since. The ony other problem I had is that the car overheated one day on the way out to work. I purchased the FanZilla Madule and everything has been perfect since then.
I have very much enjoyed owning this car and it has obeen a dream come true. My only words of advice for all you folks look to purchase a DeLorean is have it looked over by someone who knows DeLoreans first!! Also, make sure you have a reserve saved up for tid-bits and repairs. Other than that, enjoy your dream!
