This is my 1995 Golf VR6. I bought it in Texas and had it nationalized in Mexico. Golf VR6s are very much prized in Mexico for their looks and great power. However, I was not satisfied with just a simple VR6 and I made it look even better and added more power. Check out the unique MK3 to MK4 conversions on the bumpers on page 3.
I race this car sometimes at the drag strip, Pista Aceleración Tlalnepantla, in Tlalnepantla, State of Mexico just north of Mexico City. Its fastest time in the 1/4 mile is 16.523 at 7,400 feet elevation and that was in the middle of summer. Normally, unmodified Golf VR6s do 17.2 here best time. We have extremely bad gas here in Mexico (high sulfur), the air is not clean and even the track is not completely flat in places. At sea level this car would definitely clock 14s.
The guy in the picture above is my brother Rodrigo.
