Red5oh's 1967 Ford Mustang

It was time to move on to the body work. This is a picture of the roof of the car. I ALMOST passed on this car due to the roof damage. I have fixed them in the past, and they are not the easiest thing to do. So, I sanded it down, put some epoxy primer on and took it to a professional. The took care of the problem, and I was pleased with my purchase once again.

I know, I know... dirty picture alert!
Here is a picture with the engine sitting in the car and running. I need to get the mass air finalized and that upper intake cleaned up. The motor is basically all stock from a 91 fire recovery car. I replaced the heads with GT40 ones and a relatively small cam from Crane. I am going for a good daily driver and I can always add more power later.

As I continued on with the body work, I was able to get the doors started. This is what they looked like, and then I sandblasted them inside and out and worked the front corner. It was not rusted through, but it sure was thin. Again, simple replacement of those parts goes a long way.

In the mean time, I was able to get the new fenders cut in and installed, the completed doors installed including paint (but no pics yet) I will update those soon.

The newest work completed for 2006 was the rear end floors and trunk area.

Remember the rust bullet... good stuff!

I also sanded down the complete trunk and sprayed in in there.

This is with the rust bullet in the trunk. I will complete the paint in the trunk once I replace that drivers side quarter. No reason to mess up the trunk paint early.

NEXT.... installation of the 8.8 rearend

FANTASTIC car, clean and classic. both me and my wife like it ! Looks like you take good care of it, Great job !! My car is almost just like it but I finished back in 97, my body parts are from miaer racing and I also did the side scoops. your right about the end caps being hard but I sanded a little at a time and it turned out nice, are you going to put the hood trim on to complete the front? I had to bend mine to form a tight fit and then I fiberglassed it on from under the hood, plus I added the front valance with the radiator opening on it. Check it out and see.

Great job! I'm sure you've inspired many people like myself to start restoring their rusty old ponies. Thanks and all the best!

You have a great project going there. I can't wait to see it when it's done! You are definitely doing the job right...

I have two questions about your 8.8" rear end install. Where did you buy the spring perches and why did you need to replace the axles? Thanks, MustangChuck
