This is the way the car was when I bought the "A" code 65 fastback on 10.27.05 It had a 289 4V and a 4 speed top loader in her. I pulled the 289 and gave it to a friend I still have the tranny.
As you can see from the photo of the quarter Panel the quarters have some bondo in them. I might have to replace them.
Then the teardown began
Then I wanted to put on as little of the suspension as possible just enough to get the car to the media blaster
New Global West upper and lower control arms, I plan on a 400+hp 347 stroker motor so I had a custom 9" rear end "HiPo" made, adj. strut rods by Global West, wilwood disc brakes front and rear (I did not install the brakes yet just the hubs) new leaf springs, new polyurethane shackles, rear lowering kit.
I installed the upper control arms in the stock holes for now, then I will use the templates that Global west sent to drill the new holes. Then I will have Ken at Kens Custom Auto Body weld the old holes closed.
Then after MANY hours under the car with a die grinder and a wire wheel
Now the car goes to the media blaster...
3:50 posi rear diff.
Well I got the car back from the Media Blaster, I knew the quarters were bad but not this bad, they may have to be replaced.

I spent 5 + hours trying to get all of the media out of the car, now the car goes to the body shop,
Kens Custom Auto Body

Bay Area Cobra Club (I am the President)
I will chat with him and see if he wants to try and keep the quarter panels or replace them.
