Well, the posi system made ALOT of noise. I was also getting fairly frequent one wheel spin (and as that happened loud clanking sound as if it was trying to engage but unable to). As I contacted Richmond gear to get the unit swapped out, then told me to change the fluid, and drive another 200-300 miles since they thought the Royal Purple 75-90 wasn't thick enough and to try 75-140. So, I did the swap (lots of metal came out with the oil) and sure enough... It wasn't any better. So this time, they wanted me to swap to Lucas Heavy Duty 85/140 Gear Oil as it is thicker yet.... Again there was ALOT of metal! So another 200-300 miles I went... Still no better (in fact, worse). After contacting them again, they finally agreed to swap it out, they wanted me to send in the unit for inspection, then they'd send out a replacement. But since this is my daily driver truck, and the factory limited slip system couldn't go back in (takes special tools) I fought with them to just send the new one, and I'd return the replacement. It took about a week of calling every other day to get that to happen, but it finally did after giving them my credit card number to charge in case I didn't return my faulty unit. AGAIN! I had alot of metal in the diff... Look at how much metal was on the magnet: So, after swapping it all out, I took it for a drive, had 3 loud clunks leaving my parking lot.. after the oil got moved around some, I've had very little noise, zero one wheel spin, although still the occasional loud clunk like my old one made all the time. But overall, I've very happy with it now.
