The pictures below are of my Infinity Kappa midrange speakers which I bought to replace the factory ones. I installed them on my Christmas break on 12/13/02.

Here is the shot of one of the Kappa 4" 2 ways in its new home in my dash. Sounddomain and another internet retailer told me my van needed 4" size dash speakers, when in reality I found out that 5 1/4" is the correct size. I decided to keep them when I realised that the 4"s were just short enough to fit in the stock locations, 5 1/4"s would be too tall to put the dash back on. This left me and my friend Geoff with the dilemma of how to install 4" speakrs in 5 1/4" holes with no adapters. As you can see in the pictures, especially the one on the right, Geoff worked out an awesome harness for them out of some metal wiring for a hanging cieling that I found laying around in my basement.

Here is a shot of my lovely dash with the dashboard taken off, and a shot of Geoff holding the dashboard triumphantly after we removed the plastic off of the A-pillars and ripped it out.

So, the next step after we figured out how to get the 4"s in was to put the new Kappa 5x7"s in the doors. So after almost an hour of trying to figure out how to get the plastic door panel off we realise, my van isn't even wired for 5x7"s in the door, nor does it have a place to mount them again countrary to sounddomain and other retailers' belief. In the pic above you can see where the 5x7"s should be. I haven't decided for sure what i am going to do with them yet. Either work out a way to put them in the door, or put them under the front seats facing back probably.

The shot on the left is one of the stock 6x9"s in its hole in the wall after i ripped off the plastic panels around it. On the right you can see the stock 6x9" after i yanked it out of its hole to make way for the Kappas's.

These are some before and after pictures. On the left you can see the metal that the speakers are sopose to mount on. Well since the Kappas are so much bigger and the stock 6x9"s are so piddly small we couldn't get the new Kappa 6x9"s to fit in the factory location so we got some tin-snips out and cut away some of the metal so we could get the Kappa's basket through the hole (which you can see on the right). Even after the cuts we still had to force it in.

Here you can see one of the new 4"s and 6x9"s each in their happy new homes.

On the left you can see one of the new Kappa 6x9"s compared to one of the factory 6x9"s, look at the difference in Magnet size!! On the right you can see me trying to make all 3 pairs of the new Kappa's feel welcome. SO that's it for this install, in the Spring i am getting a 4-channel amp to power the 6x9"s and 5x7"s, not to mention i still need to put the 5x7"s in.
