SANTA'S LEAD SLED!!! (Christmas 2006)

This past Christmas Mike (Roundman) was asked to be Santa by some friends of ours. One week before Christmas we got a big snow storm, but by Christmas Eve, it was all melted. Trying to throw the kids off, I arrived about an hour before Santa, so they wouldn't know I was really Mrs. Santa (no costume for me). Mike came in with his bag of gifts, and we did the Santa thing for about an hour or so, then Mike went home and changed and came back (driving his truck). One of the kids saw Mike leaving in Kool Kat, and was telling her Grandpa that Santa didn't exist because she saw him leaving in a car. Our friend Ron put her on his lap and said "How can you think there isn't a Santa? Now think about this honey, how can Santa get here with his sled and and Rudolph when there isn't any snow? Yes you did see Santa leave in a car, but that was a very special car. THAT WAS SANTA'S LEAD SLED!!!! The child thought for a moment and then said "Lead Sled? I have heard of those, and it DID have Red Wheels."

On Christmas day Santa and I went to the Art Mueseum and took this picture with my new Digital that he gave me for Christmas.

RE-EDITED 5-10-2008
I am re-editing this page, I wrote this a couple of years ago, then we thought the top was getting chopped on the car, plans change, and unfortunately Kool Kat had to throw in some ideas of her own, so here is where we are today. After working on the motor trying to fix the internal water leak, well, it didn't get fixed, Kool Kat sat most of last year because all the further it would go was short trips due to overheating. For Christmas, I gave Mike a Check to cover either replacing the motor or rebuilding the one in it now. Mike Opted to have the 76 400 gone thru, he didn't want to risk not getting a good short block that he knew this one had. The motor is about ready to go back into the car. Our body man doesn't have room in his garage for the necessary time it is going to take to do the bottom of all four fenders, so Mike is going to try to peice them in himself (with a little help from some friends). The top will eventually get chopped, but not right away. Getting the car running and completeing the necessary work to keep the car sound is the major priority at this time.
The motor is ready to be installed, hopefully that will be done any day now. The Kansas weather hasn't been exactly cooperative, something we have take into consideration, because we do not have a garage here. (I want the garage before the car gets chopped, that way most of it can be done here). So, this means that Kool Kat will be back for this years show season, as much as I adore showing off Mama Said, we both miss Kool Kat terribly. Kool Kat is destined to be the Rat Rod it now is for awhile yet. I will have pictures up soon on the motor rebuild.
