I own a 1986 B2, after a whole lot of abuse it broke, the motor lost oil pressure, and I broke an axle shaft, so began the journey to find a donor Explorer for new axles and motor + trans. Well i found this on ebay (the explorer). Well after only one bid it was mine for $560. Their was one catch though, he didn't have a title for it. That didn't phase me. It was located 230 miles away so myself and a few buddies set off to retreive it. We left my little town I call home @ 1pm Saturday. We drove straight their. We headed through North Chicago, from the east. Our destination was Alqonquin. We arrived around 6pm. Made the transaction, the seller gave me a set of wheels to put on it because it had a set of super swampers on it. We changed the tires because we were going to tow it with a 2 wheel dolly. So we set off on our journey home.
Well we got just east of Chicago when BAM!!! the LR tire came off on the highway destroying the axle, Luckily nobody got hurt on nobody got in an accident. So it was midnight when this happened, with the set-up the explorer had on it was very unstable, no sway bars, 5.5" lift, etc, we ended up driving 180 miles @ 40 mph, i got home at 8am Sunday and i did all the driving. After getting it home, i decided to apply for a title and just use the Explorer as my new rig, so then
