Here it is several months into the restoration.
I built a grill guard and remounted the Dick Cepec 150W lights. I also added a folding towbar and wired the lights for towing so that I can take the truck along when we go camping.

I removed the Toyota bedliner to reveal the ultralight inner fenders. They feature inspection ports that allow you to check the rear axle without stooping down.
With $1,400 worth of new parts installed in my rear axle, the only color that seemed right for the cover was GOLD! I did all the work myself. A lot of new brake parts, new ring and pinion and new limited slip diff.

I don't get very dirty working under the hood any more. The block is painted white and it stays that way. Sure, I get the truck dirty, but I don't put it away like that.
I replaced the worn out transfer case chain and seals. Later on the transmission started to fail. All of that is fresh now.
At this point, engine and drivetrain are done. I am working on suspension, next.
