Front Receiver and Receiver-mount for my New Winch
*Page down for Sliders*
Receiver tube had to be set into the bumper. The vertical center radiator support protects the condensor coils.

With the tube in the ideal location, I fabricated the main support tube from 2" schedule 40 welded pipe.

The next phase was to fab up the winch mount. I used the mounting channel that was supplied with the Harbor Freight winch. I bought a hitch at Wally World to save time. I didn't want to make a trip to the steel yard just for a foot of 2" tube. It came with a hitch pin, too.

A little paint and some assembly and VOILA!

Sliders
Here is the way I capped the ends of the primary tube.

Rough idea of placement.
Fitting the first support. I used a slight offset.
Paterning the first support.

Making the other seven supports, using the pattern.

Here are the primary tubes with the supports welded in place.
Day two: I have to get the rocker panels fixed before I can install the sliders, so I slapped some bondo on the passenger side. While that set up, I knocked out the 1/2" thick bondo and paper towels that made up the forward portion of my DS rocker.

So I am pulling out the paper towels that the PO used to support the bondo when I find a buried treasure. I gave it to Scooter. Everything works!

I had to quit when I realized I was standing in a rain puddle, tacking patches through a stream of water that ran down the side of the truck.
My new rocker is my old washing machine.

Day 3: More rain
Determined to get SOMETHING done, I persevered.
I added reinforced lift points to my grill guard.

Close-up of one of the new lift points.
I managed to get the DS rocker welded up and some filler in place.
Got started on the outer rails.

Day 4:
Sliders are in place, but not fully welded to the frame yet. I ran out of daylight, so here are some night shots. They still need to be stripped and painted.

Finished Sliders:
