Welcome to my Mustang page, this is my second addition to my automotive obsession, besides the Mark VII that is on the C/D site
My Mustang was purchased for me by my wife last year for Christmas. What a woman! It was previously ownwed by my sister, who bought it from a doctor, who bought it from the original owner. I have all the original documentation except for the window sticker. I have reasearched the VIN and come up with this so far:
It was built Jan. 26 88
Out of the 18,000 GT converts built in 88 just 4,043 were Scarlet Red.
Out of that 4,043 just 473 were built Scarlet Red w/Smoke Grey leather interior.
and probably fewer than that had the 5 spd tranny since Ford was known to stick the auto trans in the converts.
It is as you see it, completely stock. And it is going to stay that way. My outlet for my performance bug is my Lincoln. They say that Mustangs are getting rare in completely stock form so I just decided to leave it alone. My decision was persuaded even more the first All Ford car show I took it to. Out of the 17 cars in my class I walked away with the Best In Class award. I was so not expecting it because of all the other nice stangs that were there. I'm glad I finally got some recognition for all the work I've put into my cars over the yrs.
I don't go to shows just to try to get a trophy or plaque, I mainly go for the association. But it is nice to get recognized for the work you put into your cars.
