Have you ever seen a Volvo 245 Hearse? No? That's because they are very rare! Even here in Sweden, there are almost none left, but I am the proud owner of one of the very last ones, which I am hereby presenting to you!

Sorry for the dust, the car has been sitting in a garage for the past four years.

The color is something in between bullit grey metallic and silver metallic

This is a 1978 Volvo 245 Hearse. It was used by a funeral home until 2001, then they decided to fix up the car, so they spent about 6000 dollars repairing rust, giving the car a complete paintjob, and changing the exhaust, radiator and a few other things. After they were done, they decided they were not going to use the car after all, so it has been sitting in a garage for the past four years!

The classic Volvo Front end with the "fat lip"

And from the side, this car is lengthened quite substantially (I'd say roughly 2 feet) to fit caskets for tall Swedes in the back

Here is the inside of the back, it still has the slide for the casket and also the roll down curtains with fringes on the sides

The Volvo Engine, after changing the battery this thing started up right away without a fuss after four years in storage... only Volvo could do that. This particular type of engine is known to be able to easily last over 600.000 miles!!!

And here is the back...

Condition
The car is in pretty decent condition, especially if you consider the age! It does have some rust underneath the car, and in some other places (spots on the inside of the door frame), also as you can see in the picture, there is some under the hood as well. From what I could tell there was nothing major though. The car was well taken care of in 2001 by the previous owner, and they fixed all of the rust on the exterior body, before giving it a new paintjob.

The engine runs pretty smooth, amazing that it started right away after four years! Could probalby use an oil and sparkplug change though. The odomoter reads 410.000 KM (about 250.000 miles)

For $250 I will bring the car to to the Gothenburg port and hand it over to your shipper of choice
If you arrange everything and just need me to open the garage and hand over the keys its free of charge!
I will NOT arrange shipping, I would recomend the use of Scanlink though

Scanlink webpage
They have a lot of experience shipping vehicles between the States and Sweden

Costs
Besides the cost of the car, there is the cost for either picking you up and taking you to the car, or delivering the car to the port. If you arrange everything and all I have to do is to come to the garage and hand over the keys, it's free.

Shipping, which I will not arrange is about $2000

Registering the Car in the US: This price may vary between different states, but I would not think that it costs more than at the very most $500, but check just to make sure.
