I looked for a nice 1964 Galaxie wagon for 8 years before I found this one in northern Minnesota. It's got a little rust that I'll eventually chase out with a full restoration, but offen the nice thing about northern cars is the lack of sun damage, so the interior is original and a very nice red. It's a pretty basic car with an 250 -horse FE 352 4-barrel/ Cruise-O-Matic 3-speed auto. I've rebuilt the aged front suspension with new bushings, 2" drop spindles, 2" shorter front springs, 11" disc brakes, gas shocks with a 1-1/8" front sway bar to complement the added 3/4" rear sway bar.
With the combination of the re-energized front suspension and 17" ARE Salt Flat Specials with Goodyear GSAs, it handles pretty well with exception of the most numb power steering I've ever experienced. Near-term additions will probably include a hidden stereo and a fix to a leaky exhaust manifold gasket that will likely require a head freshening, which will inevitably lead to a more radical cam to match the Edelbrock intake I picked up, but I intend to keep the nearly stock appearance.
