My mom bought this car back in 94' but sometime between 96'- 01' the paint on the trunk and passenger side went dull. Sometime inbetween that the A/C stopped working also. The body was still in excellent shape though.

I'm now living in Jacksonville, FL by way of the U.S. NAVY. The year is 2001. I have the car driven to Jacksonville so I can have transportation and I can try to fix whatever needs to be done. I think the signal lights didn't automatically blink too. I had that fixed. Fast forward>>>around October of 01' I drove Betsy back to Lafayette, LA and bought a 1998 Oldsmobile Cutlass GLS. Fast forward>>>it's now 2004 and I'm honorably discharged with a blue Cutlass on my mind.

For some reason the Jacksonville, FL paint job didn't hold up so Betsy had to be resprayed. I moved back to Lafayette, LA and had it sprayed again. It was in October of 04'. The 30's and vogues were a great compliment to the car.

Right after Christmas of 04' the original motor starts knocking. It gave some good service though. Countless trips within LA, one round trip to Jacksonville, FL, and a round trip to Columbus, GA.
For you guys in Baton Rouge having engine work done please look up the company on the BBB site before dealing with the company and also read the fine print of the contract. I towed my car from Lafayette, LA to Baton Rouge, LA thinking I was getting a better deal and ended up paying double for the work not to mention fixing things that should've been taken care of during the initial remove and replace like timing the motor, matter of fact the motor was leaking the day I picked it up but it took me two months to get my car back and I wasn't leaving without my car. I had to get the BBB involved and the company has an unsatisfactory to this day. I wish I could give the name of the company...

It's now March of 05' and a month after finally getting my car back....a teenager crosses the stop sign and leaves his body print in the header panel of my car. He's cited for ignoring the stop sign but guess who gets $10,000. Then guess who has to fix his own damage. I had full coverage on my old school but because I had uninsured motorist instead of collision I had to fix my own damage. Pedestrians don't fall under uninsured motorist because his bike didn't have an engine. This was the second time he's gotten away with committing insurance fraud. DAMN!

Now the damage is fixed and I contact a local photographer to photograph Betsy, and Lucille(the bike) There was supposed to be a model but the young lady didn't show up and wasn't answering her phone. How so unprofessional? The show had to go on anyway.

September 06'. You shouldn't be driving if your age is the same year as my car(87, 1987) I'm cruising down Johnston St. bringing my dog to the vet when this old lady makes a left turn into the plaza right in front of me on a four lane road and then pauses in my lane causing me to hit her and send her car into a car waiting to turn out of the plaza. The old woman is cited and the only credible witness is the other victim who reported the old lady caused the accident. You guys need to watch out for AllState Insurance. For two weeks I tried to contact the claim representative and when I finally got her I asked her what's been the hold up. With an attitude she tells me that she's been trying to get in touch with the officer to release the 911 tapes because there were other witnesses who saw the accident but couldn't stay so they supposedly call the operator. All State was supposedly waiting for someone to measure my tire tracks. I called my insurance company and found out that these witnesses said I didn't slam on my brakes and that I just rammed the other car. Not even two hours later I received a call from All State saying they accepted full responsibility.
They were trying to give me $1600 for my car because they claimed it totalled. After showing my receipts for the motor, transmission, and A/C the value went up to $3,000 and I bought it back for $175. Now it's back to the drawing board.
April 07'. Once again the car is fixed. I had more damage with the pedestrian than I did with the other vehicle. I now felt like changing things around audio wise since I was now co-owner of DOWN SOUTH AUDIO.
I now have the big dog Pioneer Premier 980, (8) Pioneer Premier 4-way 6x9's on two Autotek Mean Machines(75 x 4) and awaiting another Memphis MClass 12in. subwoofer....
My new Grant steering wheel.
Grant "No Wheel" security system.
"Big Dog" Pioneer Premier 980BT
The big thing to do in Louisiana is to try and place the most amount of 6x9's on your back dashboard. To each it's own. I had to change the game around here and hide my 6x9's. I like having surround sound instead of music just coming out of the back of my car(especially if your rear windows weren't made to roll down in the first place) Placing speakers in the doors and being able to hide them was exactly what I needed.
4 of 8 Pioneer Premiere 4-way 6x9's.
Two Autotek Mean Machines to power my mids and highs
Each amp operates four 6x9's at a 4ohm stereo load.
My customized back dash allows my four 6x9's to sing
underneath.
Custom rear and front door panels to allow you to hear
the door location of my 6x9's.

Yep. The "OFFICIAL" seal.
