When i bought my 56 Plymouth Savoy it had a 230 flathead straight 6 cylinder coupled to a stock Powerflite 2-speed automatic transmission and putting the power to the ground is an 8.75 rearend with the old stock banjo type axles. That will all be changed soon. I am pulling the 6 cylinder and dropping a built and tweaked 440 big block motor. The rotating assembly will consist of a Kellog (direct connection) forged crank, Six Pack connecting rods, Wiseco dome pistons, Total Seal piston rings, an ATI Superdamper, and a B&M flexplate. To button up the bottom end will be a Pete Jackson noisy gear drive and a vintage Weiand finned aluminum timing cover with the fins painted Golden Lion gold. The top end will have ported and polsihed reproduction Max Wedge heads filled with Manley valves and k-motion valve springs. The valvetrain will consist of Manley swedged end pushrods, Crane Cams gold aluminum roller rockers, a Reid Racing .700 lift mechanical roller cam and Crane roller lifters. To button up the top end is a vintage Weiand tunnel ram with 2 Holley's and vintage finned aluminum valve covers with the fins painted Golden Lion gold, like the timing cover and Golden Lion 413 stickers. The ignition system is a complete Mallory system. And the exhaust will be exhaled through a set of Thrush fenderwell headers painted white with cutouts and Flowtech purple hornies header mufflers. The motor will be mated to a 65 727 Torqueflite 3 speed transmission which will be filled with a Fairbanks torque converter, a Turbo Action manual valve body, an Imperial Services pushbutton kit, and wearing a Furlong industries tranny pan and a Deist tranny blanket. I am building another 8.75 with 4.88 gears, Mark Williams axles, green bearings, a sure grip unit, and 11x3 drum brakes. Suspension wise will just be Competition Engineering drag shocks up front, Competition Engineering coil over drag shocks in the rear, a straight front axle, Mopar super stock leaf springs in the rear, and Lakewood ladder style GM traction bars. The wheels will be Appliance wheels for the street and ET gasser wheels on the front and stock steel rear wheels for the track. The tires are Super Cat E-60 15's on the front and M&H slicks on the rear for the street. And for the track i will run Hoosier front runners and Hoosier slicks. I am then going to radiuse the rear wheel wells. The interior will have a white Superior 3 spoke slotted wheel mounted to an A100 steering column, white vinyl Dodge A100 seats on reproduction Kramer Industries super stock seat risers, a custom pushbutton shifter box mounted on the trans tunnel built by me and the pushbutton shifter from a 1958 Desoto Firesweep. A custom dashboard also built by me, black carpet, white vinyl door panels and package tray. I will also add a white perforated headliner, Stewart Warner gauges, an offenhauser throttle pedal, and a roll bar. Some other things im going to add is a spun aluminum fuel tank in the trunk, Hurst roll control, a Crane Cams vaccum canister, a Midland Ross (mopar) power booster, a newer 26" wide mopar radiator, a custom built driveshaft loop, a custom built tube rear bumper, a small Mooneyes tank up front, a speedway motors fiberglass tunnel ram 3 hoodscoop, and possibly a fiberglass tilt front end and a fiberglass decklid.

Hey Dan, funny you mention Wyotech, that's where my son wants to go when graduates. We have some friends from church that have a dune buggy shop in Lakeside, CA called "In 2 Sand" and every now and then my son gets to go over and help out on some of the chassis fabs and other odds and ends. So, very cool! Good Luck also! Plus, re-check out my Page 3. Realized I had a pic of a 58 Savoy and Belvedere from the "Fall Fling" and added it to my page.

Thanks for the comments...The SS springs are B body SS Springs(A-body front eye-centre length) same length as the originals just had to drill out the front hole on the bracket for the bigger bolt size. They sit up quite a bit higher than the originals. Once the motor's back in, I can play with torsion bar tension to get a good stance on the front. I think its up too high and makes the back look lower. The taillights are in a big oval crome bezel that goes on between the trunk and bumper(not on in any of those photos). The car originally had a 8 1/4" rear, so I swapped in a rear from a '69 charger-just had to move the spring pads a bit but width wise was perfect. Funny how this car is basically built on B-body dimensions before there was B-Bodies. Anyway thanks again--and remember...It takes a Mopar to catch a Mopar!
