Out of the box, the WRX really does not need anything. However, to enhance the everyday drivability of the WRX without compromising emissions or economy, I added the SAMCO intercooler hoses and a Borla Hush cat-back exhaust system.
The hoses enhanced the turbo wind-up because the air being past between the intercooler and the turbo is now smooth and void of turbulence. My hope is this will also increase the life of the turbo. This was a good 5-7 HP that does not require added fuel.
In my opinion the Borla Hush is the best cat-back system in the industry. The look is similar to stock and the sound is a slight grumble that isn?t deafening. The result, an exhaust system that does not attract any attention, but the HP and torque gains are equal to, or greater than, the louder and more expensive systems. Let us not forget the amazing million-mile Borla warranty.
