Update 19 Dec 2009: addition of keyless entry/trunk release, advance to page 23 Sitting in the customs yard 23 Feb 06 prior to the ride home. After my short "first drive", the drivers door window being adjusted to seal out wind noise properly. 29 years of Armour All, body oil and dirt being washed and scrubbed away. Note the clean carpet strip that was hidden under the rocker cover for 29 years. Pulling out more items. 8 hours was spent cleaning up the "tar" that seals the windscreen and back window to the car. "Tar" is now sealed behind black electrician tape so that the clean trim does not get all gummed up (a detail instantly noticed and appreciated by the insurance appraiser). The area under the front passenger side feet. The area under the drivers feet. Surface rust on a removable steel "cable protector". A cardboard "cable protector" needing re-placement. The area under the drivers feet, wire brushed clean and prepped for "Rust Encapsulator". The area cleaned and put back together. The main carpet, removed from the car and being washed and scrubbed. A clean carpet starting to drip dry (90 minutes to scrubb this one part). 12 hours later, still drip drying prior to going into the drying room. 2 front seats after being washed and scrubbed, prior to going into the drying room. The "drying" room. (Boiler for radiant floor heat for the house and garage keeps this room nice and warm). A clean and dry door skin ready to be put back together No dirt in any of the grain of the vinyl or that pull strap!
