INTERIOR
I have done a few interior mods:
MOMO Pedals
Joshua Tree Wood Trim kit
XM Radio
Here you can see the MOMO Grand Prix Automatic Pedals. I have small feet and for racing I like to have big pedals. I always liked the look of the pedals in the IS300. I removed the MOMO logo and the rubber pieces to get the current look. These pedals I actually bought at a shop in Mexico City, but they were also listed in HyperRev magazine (inquire about this magazine at My Auto Fashion ) as a possible RX300 mod. ($100)
One interesting note on the accelerator pedal. When rammed to the floor the bottom will sink into the carpet. Eventually, this created a hole in my case and it created a dangerous situation in racing where the pedal would stick in the hole and I would have to nudge the pedal from underneath while slowing down. Since I do not use the Lexus carpets (weight savings), I made a slight cut in the rug to eliminate this problem.
Wood piece around the door speakers. You can see the nose of my uncle's Chow Chow, Gorda, below the door. ($300 for the entire kit)
Wood piece by front lamp and sunglasses holder
Wood piece by cupholders
Wood piece by air vent. Note I did not like the look by the air vents above the radio area as the wood was not quite a match. For an alternative dash kit, Sherwood Dash
XM Radio holder and you can notice the lack of wood pieces above the radio. ($25 for the mount)
XM Radio Antenna in the sunroof area. The magnet sticks to either side of the top of the sunroof handle.
Not too much time after I returned to the United States, I gave up the XM radio unit. I found that I did not use it as much as I did in Mexico.
