Back to buisness....
I figured since I had the intake manifold off, I just tore the top end off of the 'teen. The heads were filthy with sludge, but with a few hot-water/Dawn blasts, they were pretty clean.
Porting: I then took the exhaust valves out so I could begin porting. I then took my Dremel tool, some Aluminum oxide stnes,a tungsten carbide cutter, and started cutting. I remeber reading in a guy's book that you coudn't port a set of heads with a Dremel, but I think that is total crap! It looks great!!
I was inprired by Hotrod magazine's article about when they built a 400-horsepower 318. To hell with big-blocks, everyone does that!!! Lets make a really hot 'teen!
First, let me show you how I ported the exhaust side of the one head. I have not gotten to intake side on either head yet, I need to get some 360 intake gaskets that I can use as templates.
I have as of now taken the exhaust valves out and ported the valve throats and combustion chamber...
PORTINGS COOL!
