I nabbed a NEW passenger'side fender of a guy on craigslist for only $35!!! I reconstructed the other fender by welding a new patch in, thaen making a new arch strip, which I could bend to a contour I liked, then welded that in also. Then I filled in the whole patch with short-strand Bondoglass, for more strength. sanded that down, then put reg bondo over it, for fine detail. I then epoxy primed both fenders.

My 35 dollar fender, all primed up!!!

My handsome Bondo work! Its really nice, thank goodness for Bondo glass, seems much less crude than regular bondo, and is MANY times stronger!

That same fender mounted on my truck, how nice it looks. My truck is starting to come together.

The smow came and left here in Wisconsin, nice temps in the 40s. Sure a mild start to the winter here in the salt belt. Its nice in two ways, I can work on my truck in the middle of December, and less salt is used on the roads, so now cars wont rust out as fast!

Im starting to replace the lower door skins on both sides, starting with the drivers side. I got some nice "scraps" (useful to me) from one of my friend Jake's dad. They are PERFECTLY sized for making the door skins, so I think Im looking at some more of my good luck, as usual.

I started cutting out all the cancer on the door bottoms, all the way to the body line, was actually more solid that I thought it would be! But I still have to make the door bottoms myself.

My work,

Heres another mod that you can do to your Dodge Truck (it possibly could be used for other makes) With the grill having as large orfices it does, alot of crap sure gets stuck in the radiator after awhile! Thats why my radiator had a leak in it, and I eventually had to replace the whole thing anyways because of the leak.

So what I did was get a sheet of nice metal "cloth" from the junk bin of a metal fab place. It kinda looks like what they used for Gasser grills and the like, so I thought that would look cool. Mine was stainless, but fine chicken wire or hardware cloth would work great also!
I formed it to some of the various mounts and stuts in the front, then drilled a few bolt holes around so I could hold it in place with bolts and large fender washers.

The end result for me looked like this...

I figure there will be much less of a chance of sh** getting in there now, but air will be able to flow perfectly. Will keep the engine compartment cleaner in the long run also! Tell me if you do this also, Ill be glad to hear about your experiences.
