Old updates-
I also got my 35 inch tires, they are wild country txr's or something like that, 35x12.5 i think, they are HUGE, and cool, i painted my rockers, and 2 inches or so up on the cut fenders green, i think it looks good but thats me... i cut all fenders 2 inches and i have a 2.5 inch lift up front (using fullsize coils) i need to have the toe in fixed, have the rear lifted, and get some spacers for the front, it just rubs a little, but once i get the spacers it will be fine (just rubs on inner fenders)i will upload corner pics, but this is what i have right now (green paint is not shown) yes i do know that i need to have the toe in fixed (may not be able to see too well)
previous: getting some freaking 35 inch mud tires to put on there, gotta have the rear lift made, and get my front fenders cut finally, and i'll be sittn pretty with 2.5 inches of lift and freakin 35's OOOOH YEAH... i'll get pics up when im done, and may finally get to go wheeling on spring break, if i get insurance... well i'll take pictures if i do, check back often, and i hope you all have a great day!
WELLLLLL i got the front lift done.
Here is a picture of the front of it right after putting on the wheel (coils arent settled yet so the tires aint straighter yet)
Here is the fender it is still a work in progress. need to clean it up some more, and grind the back.
Here is the other fender, notice how much i gain in clearance by cutting the fender.
Here is the cut fender, and the tire on, after the coils have settled.
Here is the cut side again.
You can see here the coils have settled now, and the tires have straightened out if you can tell.
Here is the other side once the coil settled, still gotta cut the fender, after i finish the other one
Have fun checking out the rest of my page!!! i will be lifting the rear and putting on some tires in the near future, keep checkin' back!!
I was having a VERY hard time getting the bottom coil nut off of the coil... i cut the coil to get more room, and it still wont freaking come of, i used a TON (3/4 a bottle) of wd40, a socket, and a breaker bar, and it still wont come off, i'll have to try the "cheater bar" on the end of the breaker bar, and some vice grips if that doesnt work, i also cut my passenger side fender, i will have to do the rest of them later (got bored trying to get off the nut, so i decided to cut it now) its almost done, but not quite, here are some pictures.
Here it is cut, needs evening out, and some more cutting, but over all not bad
Here is the piece that came off :D
Here is my grinder wheel after cutting off the fender
MY new welding torch, tried to use it to get off the nut (by using heat ya kno) but it didnt work
My best friend wile using the torch, i already cought the explorer on fire (dont worry didnt cause damage [i hope])
Here is the famous nut, as you can see the cut coil in the pic also
UPDATE: FINALLY!!! I got some full size coils from a guy i know (greyb2) they should lift me up about 2.5" im going to have some rear shackles fabed up to match the front lift, but i have to get raidus arm drop brackets, and a center pivot drop bracket, it should all work out good once im done, here are some pictures of the lift! enjoy!!
Here it is right after i got the driver side lift done!
Here is how much clearance i have, quite a bit if i do say so myself, im also going to cut my fenders to the "fender line"
Here is the difference between the "new" coils and the old ones, new ones are on the left, old on the right!
Here it is getting ready to start on the passenger side!
Here is a shot of how much i need to lift the rear to match...
Finally, here is a shot of how much the lift does, you cannot see it very well but the tire is about 2-3.5 inches off the ground, and it is even with the other side....
As you may see, my tires go like \/ once i get the drop radius arms, and drop center pivot bracket, it should be | | hopefully!
Well the front end swap is going to have to waint, when i do i actually decided to change it to the front of a 2002 ranger, for now i just painted the fender white (the one that was black) and i am painting the bumpers grill, headlight bezels with red metalic coating stuff. i think it looks awesome, but i have to waint to put it all back together, because i have to buy some new head lights as i broke one of them. im gonna try to find some cheap crystal clears, i am also looking for a cheap used supercharger if anyone has one for a 4.0.
Here is it now white
Here is the other fender that i just touched up, i dont know if you can see but i also painted the side lower trim white, and the door handles white
Here is my new red tinted crome bumper :D i like it
Here is my grill painted red, i like it a lot, the red in the center thing is lighter than the outside, cuz of the way i did it.
Here is it with the grill in (not installed just layed there so its crooked
Here it is with the headlight bezles and the grill
Here are some older pictures:
Posing with my former car, now my moms
Posing again, almost same as the first one
Well this picture is straight on, as you can see the bumper is pushed in on the passenger side, it was hit before i got it
This is the "better" side, the door handle moves when the window is put up or down, its catching
This is my BEST looking rim, if you enlarge it you can see the scraches and gouges and messed up stuff, it wont come off i tried
some mud from the BACK YARD good god, how much mud do you think u can get from a patch of grass goin back and forth 1 foot, good grief, id say thats quite a bit for what i had to work with
Wouldnt this be intimidating seeing in your rear view mirror? nah, i didnt think so either
My PIMPIN black primer fender, covered in what? back yard mud lol
Passenger side pic, from the back
Rim
Interior is a little dirty
Rim again
You may be able to see the tape around the passenger front window, i think the window was broke once before, and they taped plastic on it or something
