--------T56 BUILD--------

I ordered the Tick Performance Stage II upgrade Kit and assembled it with that.

Here is all the parts..

Here is the 3-4 Slider with Upgraded Springs & Billet Keys..

Here are all the Shift Forks. The smaller ones are the 5-6 Fork and the Reverse Fork, they have stock Nylon Pads. The larger ones are the stock 1-2 Aluminum Fork, and the 3-4 Steel(upgrade from stock Aluminum) Fork. Both the 1-2 and 3-4 have upgraded Brass Bads..

Here is the Main Shaft with 2nd and 3rd Gear on it, and the 1-2 and 3-4 Slider/Synchronizer Assemblies..

Here is First Gear and the Mainshaft Bearing..

I then installed the Input Shaft and the Mainshaft into the Front Plate..

Then I bolted the Case to it with no Shims and torqed the Bolts to 30ft-lbs. I placed a couple of pieces of wood under it and Ratchet-Straped the whole assembly to the Bench. I thin setup a Dial Indicator and used a Pry Bar to pry up on the Input Shaft to check the end play in the Main Shaft. It came out to .047", the factory Shim was .040" thick. I installed a .050" Shim for preload on the new Bearings to compensate for break-in wear..

Once the new Shim was in I checked it again and it was spot-on perfect, the Input Shaft could spin with very little side to side movement.

I then installed the Counter Shaft and all the Shift Rails and the 1-2 and 3-4 Shift Forks..

This piece here is a very important piece..it's the Shift Pattern Guide Plate. This is installed on as the Case is being slid onto the Shift Rail..

Here is the Tail Shaft Housing installed..

Most people say to pry up on the 5 & 6 Shift Rail to get this to line up properly, I just shifted it into Reverse, slid the Tail Shaft Housing on, and as soon as it lined up on the Rail I got it to mesh with the Reverse Gear and it slid fully on.

After installing the Vent Tube, Rear Seal, and a couple of other things..here it is complete..
