Ok, This is my favorite page. Why? Because all of this is done by me. This what I do, and who I am. I am very proud of my work, and everytime I do something new I learn something new. Starting at the front of the car is the Kenwood KVT-817DVD. It is there high end Excelon piece. I love this piece for several reasons. First, I love the equalization features. 4 bands per front and rear, selectable any frequence and Q. All parametric, not graphic. Crossovers for front, rear, and sub built in as well. 4 volt pre-outs, and 5.1 built in. Second, the dual zone. Dual zone allows the me to play a movie in the front, and PS2 in the rear, or visa versa, or music in the front and movies in the back or any combination of audio/video sources. And last, but not least, is the navigation. It is made by Garmin so it is hella easy to use. Maps are upgradable by SD card, and it will tell you your speed arrival time, elevation, which satelites are being received...pretty much anything. Here are the install pictures.

Here is the PS2 in the glove box. I use wireless controllers made by Logitech that can transmit thru the door and anywhere around the car. They work excellent and really keep a clean look.

Here are the headrest monitors. They are Concept 7" monitors. This was my first try at doing headrest monitors and they came out pretty good for a first attempt.

This is the power on/off for the power inverter. It is located in center console. When turned on the PS2 comes on and the second power input gets powered up so I can plug in a laptop or Xbox or phone charger or anything really. The audio/video inputs are linked to the Video II of the Kenwood so I can input music from a MP3 Player or video from any source.

Here is a picture of the old setup; sub, battery, and caps. The amp sits behind the box and battery. This is just a temporary setup until I get money to sound deaden and build custom box/amp rack.

And now, pictures of the new install. First off are the amps. They are a Memphis 4KW and a Memphis 5004. The 4KW puts out 4,000 watts @ 1 ohm RMS. Since I am only running one sub, I opted to run the amp at 4 ohm, which puts out 1,000 watts RMS. By running at 4 ohm I get a very clean, responsive, and loud sound from the single 12". The 5004 is a 125x4 @ 4 ohm highs amp. It is probably overkill for a highs amp, but I wanted the size of the amps to be as close as possible.

I am running 5 Memphis 1 farad caps and a second optima redtop battery (also have one in the front) to try and keep the car's electical system from taking to much abuse. I know that these are just bandaids in the big scheme of things but right now I can't find an altenator big enough to be worth buying.

And, finally, a picture of the completed amp rack. I don't have any pictures of the in between stuff....when I get to working and get in a grove I forget to pause and snap pictures.
