I found her on the street, with a blown engine. My buddies and I pushed her into my driveway and slowly but surely starting working on it. We stuffed a rebuilt, balanced 351W with a mild cam, K&N air filter, Edelbrock carb and intake manifold, MSD coil, Ford 9mm ignition wires, PerTronix Ignitor II, high volume fuel pump, March underdrive pulley's, ported exhaust, Hooker Super Competition headers, and Flowmaster mufflers. I put chrome air cleaner and valve covers in there to give it an extra 10hp. The tranny is a rebuilt FMX with B&M shift kit and TCI Torque Converter. Nothing done to the rear end. It's a 9" posi, all I did was drain and refill the fluid.
I gotta give thanks to my bro for getting me the paint job after he nearly totalled my car. He did this right after I got the new burgandy top put on and I needed someone to come with me to pick her up. The paint is a pearl white with pearl burgandy racing stripes. I know, I know. Most of you Cougar enthusiasts are saying "well, that's not how you put racing stripes on a Cougar". Well, too bad, I like it. It looks bad ass and you wish you would've thought of it first.
Interior is white and and burgandy too. The seats are white with burgandy tubing. The dash and door panels are burgandy and the headliner is white (p-i-m-p). I also put a nice sound system in her. I just upgraded to a sick Alpine deck and a 4 channel JL Amp running my 4 Infinity 3-way 6x9's...sounding like eighteens!!! YOU KNOW! I'm going to put either 1 or 2 12" Cerwin Vega, Vega Series in soon. Still haven't made up my mind. If I put two, each one will have it's own amp running it. I just don't want the shit sounding like Godzilla and King Kong humping in the trunk.
More to come...
