I started with an almost rust-free PA body. Dropped in a '87 4.3 from a Monte Carlo. Intsalled an Edelbrock intake, carb, air filter and aluminum valve covers. Trans is a 200 R4 AOD with manual lock-up converter. Rear is a 7.5" from a 91 Camaro, narrowed 7" with 3.42 posi gears installed. Custom built torque arm. Exhaust manifolds are from an '81 229. 2" headpipes into Thrush small oval muffs into 2" tailpipes with 2 1/2" tips. Mags are '92 Camaro with 205/50/15s. Front spindles and brakes are from an '83 Malibu ( Modified) Chevette control arms are modified to accept Malibu ball joints. Upper control arm mounts are custom built and are shim adjustable. Front springs are Ford Pinto. They are the same size as Chevette but have heavier wire. They fit perfectly with no modification. Radiator is Chevette heavy duty rebuilt with high density 3 row core. A Hayden 14" electric fan is mounted in front of rad.

The car has been tested on a Dynojet chassis dynomometer and recorded 160hp at the rear wheels. Best 1/8th mi. ET was 9.77 @ 74mph.

It also delivers a combined (city/highway) ave of 23mpg.

This is a well engineered and professionally built car which has given many years of trouble-free driving at performance levels equal to cars costing 20 times more.

It needs minor body work, paint, carpet, headliner, radio and a good home ( Yeah, it's for sale)
The rest of the pics are detail shots showing how it was done.
