I'm still grinning from this last weekend. Perfect weather. Great town. Great rally. Great people.
I have not looked at the car but I think it finished in decent shape (other than the silly fender and door I managed to dent in the last Circuit-RPM). I will take a closer look at the car once I settle down from this event :)
Some stages were rough and really abrasive. The Saturday morning stages were by far my favorites. Loved the short and sweet Le ZEC but by far Burton stage was just the best one out there. Talking about a stage with personality conflict.
The night stages for sure were fun and exciting to drive. Plus we got a few bonuses like almost hitting a deer (again!), and a light pod coming loose across the windshield and then somehow hanging on for the rest of the stage by the cable.
The event met all our expectations. My wife had a great time at the 2 spectator areas. Always meeting people that were extremely friendly and helpful. The spectator areas at night were a great party scene. DJ music, beverages, dancing in the stands.. the works.
All in all not a bad result (10th overall, 3rd in class) for our first running. The notes we took were fairly consistent. I was really happy with the notes for Le ZEC and Burton (maybe that is why we enjoyed those stages the most). The rest of the notes needed some more work. We did some minor adjustments while running but for sure they will need improvement. Regardless, they will provide a solid base to start from should we run those stages again in 2008.
So long!
