I built one of these old trucks when i was a teenager with some help from a big hairy UNCLE,and learned alot about mechanics but didnt hang on to the truck.I have wanted another one for a long time, and finally got this relatively straight 65. its like getting reaquainted with a lost love.I plan to get the body, which is basically rust free restored and painted. Until i can come up with the cash for that i am adding on all the origional custom parts and restoring the interior. I think these old trucks looked pretty good origional, except the tires and wheels were too palin and narrow.so heres a little pic story of my 65 love affair..........

thought i would drop a pic of its new engine just in case you get bored fast and dont make it to the last page 302 .30 over trw flat top pistons 266 lift cam eddelbrock preformer intake with a 600cfm eddelbrock 4 barrel carb hei one wire billet alluminum 50,000 volt distributer ,kevlar plug wires and bosh platnum plugs dual exaust with flowmaster 40 series mufflers with 2 1/4 inch pipe out the back my latest updates made a dramatic change to the way this truck runs and drives .I put a 5 speed transmission out of a 1993 ford f-150 with a fluid clutch and I also put power steering off of a 77 ford on it with a new grant wood grain steering wheel.
I bought two rolls of naugahyde off of eBay and my wife and I reupholstered the seat. The red naugahyde is the industerial stuff used to upoholstery resturant booths and bar stools, its super tuff will probably give leather a run for its money in durability and butt burning LOL!!!
tuck and roled the top last weekend and I remanufactured the old cracked steering wheel and painted it.
.before pic of the top
the visors got done to match the seat
chrome steel slots improved the looks alot the stock wheels were rusty with no hubcaps rather hidious!

heres two hard to find items origional scratch guards and a 60;s locking gas cap
Heres a picture of how it gets abused from time to time. But what can iI say it's built Ford tough
heres my old 65 finished (when I was 15)
I found these old pics in a box of stuff and thought it would be cool to show that I wasn't pulling your leg about building one of these trucks when I was a boy. This is before the paint job but i had done lots of work already here, because it was just a moterless body when I bought it.It has a rebuilt 352 with about 35 miles on it in this pic.
I stole this ford animation from sixtyfiveF-100 LOL my old hockey coach and mentor always said if youre not cheating youre not tryin hard enough lol!!
got wild with the spray paint I figured it couldnt hurt considering how the hood looked.
at least i know how it would look painted like this, but im probably going to go with a solid color
FINALLY! I got all the molding on both sides of Truck. YESSS.........
