I built one of these old trucks when i was a teenager with some help from a big hairy UNCLE,and learned alot about mechanics but didnt hang on to the truck.I have wanted another one for a long time, and finally got this relatively straight 65. its like getting reaquainted with a lost love.I plan to get the body, which is basically rust free restored and painted. Until i can come up with the cash for that i am adding on all the origional custom parts and restoring the interior. I think these old trucks looked pretty good origional, except the tires and wheels were too palin and narrow.so heres a little pic story of my 65 love affair..........

thought i would drop a pic of its new engine just in case you get bored fast and dont make it to the last page 302 .30 over trw flat top pistons 266 lift cam eddelbrock preformer intake with a 600cfm eddelbrock 4 barrel carb hei one wire billet alluminum 50,000 volt distributer ,kevlar plug wires and bosh platnum plugs dual exaust with flowmaster 40 series mufflers with 2 1/4 inch pipe out the back  my latest updates made a dramatic change to the way this truck runs and drives .I put a 5 speed transmission out of a 1993 ford f-150 with a fluid clutch and I also put power steering off of a 77 ford on it with a new grant wood grain steering wheel.

I bought two rolls of naugahyde off of eBay and my wife and I reupholstered the seat. The red naugahyde is the industerial stuff used to upoholstery resturant booths and bar stools, its super tuff will probably give leather a run for its money in durability and butt burning LOL!!!

I found these old pics in a box of stuff and thought it would be cool to show that I wasn't pulling your leg about building one of these trucks when I was a boy. This is before the paint job but i had done lots of work already here, because it was just a moterless body when I bought it.It has a rebuilt 352 with about 35 miles on it in this pic.
I stole this ford animation from sixtyfiveF-100 LOL my old hockey coach and mentor always said if youre not cheating youre not tryin hard enough lol!!

ya there's a sight specifically for 67-72 ford trucks that a guy i met through a local online classifieds listing and swapped parts he introduced me to it its fordification.com and its everything for my truck and those years shortly after and the one previous... but ya i've got a small car club with my other high school buddies, i've got a few buddies with trucks but everyone else runs cadillacs, camaros, el camino (almost truck lol), torino, mustang and i don't even know what else... but this summer i hope to get my hands on a 65 shorty its always been my first love since i was 12 when i first saw the pics of my dad's midnight blue one... had a 390 from a t bird in it... i just i really hope that works out... i've got two summers left before i serve a mission for my church and i'd like to do it before then because who knows if gas hogs like that will even be street legal or if emissions laws will change or something before i get back... idk i'd rather do it and be safe than sorry and say i never got to build a 65, even if i've got to do most of itin the backyard/frontyard with amateur skills all over again... lol

beautiful truck man! i'm 17 and have been building a 68 F100 for the past almost 2 years with help from a neighbor... give it a glance on my page... we call him Blue Thunder, but just as you are doing, i hope to one day build a truck for reals, this has been a fun project but on a high school kids' budget, its not easy, you probably are thinking been there done that kid lol but one day i'll build a truck like that from the ground up not taking shortcuts or sparing expenses i've had to with this one

Hey Byron; Hows it going bud? The truck looks great... I haven't got my door panels in yet; interior is last and the rest is slow but steady, but we'll get there. Any progress on perfecting the headliners and kick panels for sale? Let me know; I'm interested in those too. i guess your email is changed; it keeps getting bounced when I try to email you. email me at the same address when you get time... Chat soon... Norm
