a stock samurai has 64 horse power which is enough for now i would put yj springs on it sprung over and a rear locker to start with and some decent rubber. then worry about more poweryou could also regear your diffs and t-case. but on a budget start with a locker 200 bucks and virtual lift and some shackles that will give 1" of lift but no longer than that then you could fit some 235's on it and do plenty of wheeling until you can save enough green to really start moddin it up

yea its totally worth it. you got about say 55-60 horsepower right now and after the 1.6 Fuel Injected 16 Valve swap you will have about 100 maybe 105 with exhaust and airfilter with spinnin the lighter samurai parts. Only thing is yur gonna need a lift first. you need at least i think they said a 4" lift for the motor to fit with its different oil pan. If you got any questions let me know. oh and make sure you do the Fuel Injected swap cuz if you go to the 1.6 8 valve carbuerated motor its really not gonna do much for ya
