May 9, 2006: Streets of Willow
With the support of ravenwingperformance.net, the Southern California Miata Club and SoCal tC Club (among others, including a bunch of Minis) were encouraged to attend the Danny McKeever "Fast Lane" High Performance Driving School.
I've done this school 3 times prior (twice in Kenzo, my Miata, and once in Kenji, my 2005 tC). This time I brought Koji and I was eager to see how he would handle. Unlike Kenji, who had a basically unmodified suspension, Koji arrived to the Streets with lowering springs, better rear sway bar, and 18" wheels with much better tires. The only suspension component shared between Koji and Kenji is a strut bar. Koji also has a better intake, better header, and improved s-pipe with no CEL. So, I expected to achieve speed quicker and carry more speed through the corners. Koji did not disappoint!
I found this amusing. Like as if the 3 bears were black cars...lol
There were 3 tCs there. Mine, Chuck's, and Brian's. Brian's FM has an interesting tan interior and the Viniati wing:
Here are the noobs in school with Danny (I got on the track right away since I'm already track certified):
Hey Skippy... you were here with us in spirit! You have to get another tC!
Along with the tCs was Kelly and Toan, tC "alumni." Kelly in her RX-8 and Toan in his 350Z.
So... when you abandon the Scion world, THIS is what happens to you (hehehe):
Here we all are, the whole crowd and the SoCal tC Club:
Koji on the track:
Oh yah, Miatas were everywhere too:
Finally, some other cool shots including Danny's race-prepped Toyota Celicas. FYI, in about 18 months the driving school will be switching over to race-prepped Scion tCs!
