Current Progress
Sanded all Day, Then a Thunder Storm hit, Now I'm going to have to sand all the Surface rust again. Also all the Tape and Paper is all wet.

Also found more Rust, It poked out under some Bondo after I sanded the paint.

Working on driver Door, took it down to Bare Metal, kinda wavy...

Work In Progress,

88k miles and all stock, the marks on the driver door are the grinding marks where the body molding was riveted on the door. Most of the rust was contained under the bondo. A little work with the MIG and the holes are patched.
And now time for the body work. Not much rust on the old girl.
Good thing I have a MIG welder. I have to thank the wife for the expensive toy, besids I have fixed enough stuff to pay for itself. Befor and after pic's of the body work.

After fixing the 3 rust holes, I decided what the hell, lets start sanding. I found 4 coats of white paint. That's 4 primer and 4 white. I decided to sand instead of paint remover. Had that experience with my red 78' with 8-10 coats of paint. Including one coat of metal flake. Not metallic, the metal flake like you would find on a boat.... Took 3 gallons of remover for that one. The crash damage took out the urethane nose, the fiber glass under the nose. Radiator support, driver fender along with the front corner of the hood. It also broke the wind shield.
I bought a Camaro front clip with no hood for the parts. ($150) Got a good driver side fender with no rust. The fiber glass was in good shape. Now the rad support was another story, the pass side was rusted pretty good, but good on the driver side. So I enlisted the help of a neighbor with a MIG welder.
Cut the bent up portion of my crash damaged one and the rusted one. Those together made a good one. After the welding was done, I knew I needed to get me a MIG also. After another $200 for another nose I reassembled it back to pre crash damage. Now it sits in the cold winter waiting to run again.
Fixin the Hood from the Crash Damage. The Hood was a Little Tweeked from the crash. The front Corner was a little Bent down. Tryed to hammer it up a Little but that didn't work. The double Sheet Metal below stopped that Plan. Got the Idea of Cutting the Corner of the Hood Sheet Metal and Lift it up a bit and reweld.

The Filler in the Middle of the Hood was where there was Filler from a Different fix. There was a Crack in it from the Crash, Removed it all and reapplied new Filler.
Reworked the Hood again. Didnt Like the Eye Sore of a gap that was on the front Driver Side of the Hood. "Cut Chop Rebuild" God I hate that Show, but thats what I did Tonight. Four Hours to do.

Ya I can buy a new one for $200 shipped, thats the easy way, if this did not work, then I would have done that. For $10 and a few hours work, I cant pass that up.

So after the fix its almost perfect. A little warped from years of being riped cracked almost in half, just add primer...
