Part II... The Tear Down
So the idea here is to take this trucks body(My 95 left) and put it on this trucks frame (the 94 donor right) This will let me start over with a "virgin" frame AND let me fix all the mistakes I made on the other frame.
Since this truck was impounded and officially abandoned by its previous owner due to roughly $4500 in storage/towing fees and money owed to the state... it was slated to be crushed. So I took possession of it for $500 and gave it a new purpose in life.
Just to Satisfy your curiousity The Donor Truck was impounded in July of 2000 for: DUI, Driving Under Suspension, Speeding, Wreckless Op, Failure to Yield @ a Stop Sign, No Seat Belt, and No Insurance.
Let the tear down begin. Don't worry... we saved all the important stuff (fenders, core support, hood, doors, etc) Nothing is going to waste. If I can't use it... someone will.

Before I went any further, I strengthened the frame, by boxing the ends of the frame rails. (
below left) This will help with chassis stiffness and reduce flexing from the suspension.
This is us (
below right) trying to figure out how the hell we're going to get this cab off the frame... myself (
red flannel) Chuck aka The Chizzle (
red hat) and Zach aka Pimpjuice (
on the right).
We did it "Lo Tech' style. And Chizzle still wishes I would have pulled the column, dash, harness, heater box and brake booster to make the cab 120lbs lighter.

After hurting ourselves, we took everything back to the garage, and stripped the rest of the frame down to a rolling chassis(below) and sent it to the sandblaster.
