It warmed up to -20c, so we took our '73 Colt out of the garage for some fun in the snow. My son nicknamed our car "Jimbo" when we purchased the car nine years ago (2001). The name stuck, and we enjoy driving the car in summer. Most people do not know what kind of car it is, or are too young to have seen one.

While living in Fort Nelson BC, my son and I, would take part in the Canada Day Parade. There was always a great turn-out of vintage cars and trucks. If you ever find yourself driving up the Alaska Highway, be sure to stop in Fort Nelson BC (Mile 300).

The never ending search for parts. This is a 1973 Plymouth Cricket. 70's badge engineering at it's best. I found this car along with a four-door rusting away on a farm. The only thing that was holding this car together was dirt. Look closely, that is about 2" of moss growing on the home made roof rack. Yes, the farmer kept the roof rack when we hauled the cars away. There were at least 40 old cars and trucks sitting in the trees. Check out the hood pins! You never know when you might hit 50mph in one of these babies!!

Well, at least the tree wasn't growing through the car!

Really like "Jimbo", good wheel choice, too. Hope you still have it! Been collecting parts to build an early Colt for many years (had a very rusty 1972 4-door in college). Have a solid 2-door body from Florida. Hood, bumpers, engine/trans from the 1972. Deck lid and glass from old junk yards, & misc from ebay. Still looking for a 1973 grille in good condition though. Any possible leads would be very welcome. Thanks for reading this.
