Here are some pictures of my 1959 VW beetle KD the day I picked her up. The car is a little rough, but is for the most part solid, unfortunately sometime in the past the car had been converted into a Baja, and the interior completely covered in long orange shag carpet! The car is missing much of the interior, including all intreior door panels, and the rear seat. I have been working on replacing the missing sections of rear quarterpanels. The rockerpanels and floors were in relatively good condition, the only rust damage being under the rear seat under the battery. The car is missing the original fenders, the engine lid, and the front luggage lid. The original engine has been replaced with a 1600 dual port, and the transmission has been replaced with a later tunnel swing axle. This combination will probably be retained, at least initially. The engine is being rebuilt with a 76mm stroker crak, stock bore pistons, chromoly studs, and a free flow oil system with external filter. I plan on repainting the car the original Garnet Red. The Chassis has been reomved, painted and all brake parts and bushings replaced.
