*** Previous Install ***
2 Concept SS-15's, the first day they were installed. Home made custom enclosure, internally cross-braced and polyester filled. 4.2 cubic feet sealed enclosure and only 95 lbs. of hearty MDF.
The sloppy first day install, just to make sure it's working. Audio control 24XS Crossover, Phoenix Gold 1.0 Farad Cap and Concept D1200 amp. This amp was actually measured putting out 1024 Watts RMS and 1764 Watts Peak! We tested the car in the shop the second day it was installed and it hit 145 dB, just before the amp went into protection from voltage loss from a bad ground off my capacitor.
These are pictures of the unfinished amp rack that filled in the rest of the trunk.
I hid the power cap in the middle of the box. It hid the wires better this way, but the new design will show it off.
The finished amp rack, carpet and all. It filled the rest of the trunk in right up to the back of the seats.
The shadow of the concept sticker got in the shot. It's a nice effect, but honest, I didn't know it was there!
The view from the back of the car.
The House of Boom SPL comp set-up.
The yellow logo concept subs fell apart 2 days before the competition, so I had them replaced with the new model Concept CSS-15's.
The amp mounted on top is the Concept D-2400 that I got for this competition. It went up in smoke on me, the day before the comp, during testing. I ended up having to borrow a Cadence ZX1500 (which really sucked compared to the 2400). The Concept D-1200 was disconnected for backup in case the Cadence went as well.
