Kraziken's 1999 Subaru Legacy

I'm not sure how I started down this path. I guess I got bit by the import performance bug with my '93 RX-7. I fully planned on buying another, but then I decided to have kids. The WRX was too small, but the Legacy seemed to be a nice family sedan.

I then got the upgrade bug, and thru research found out these cars can swap a lot of parts with the WRX. Boy was that a mistake. Ignorance is truly bliss.

------------------------------
For the project, I had the lower chin spoiler, side skirts and rear valance painted to match the rest of the car. A similar look to the Legacy GT Limited (which is a bit rare) Custom grill w/ pink STI logo. New Volk racing wheels (LE28N).

The fogs are JDM Legacy Foglights. I highly recommend this mod. The JDM fogs are really nice glass lights, versus the cheap U.S. Plastic lens.

Pictures of the USDM WRX STI engine swap. The engine, Turbo, ECU, Drive by wire throttle were all from a 2004 USDM WRX STI.

STI intercooler spray. The water is fed thru the normal window washer fluid bottle. The intercooler switch works a bit different than the stock STI. Instead of a manual push switch, this is an arm button.

When the system is armed, the sprayer activates when boost hits 8psi.

JDM power folding/heated mirrors have been installed and I had some dent removal and paint work.

A closer pic of the JDM Fogs, grill and Hella Horns.

A few more recent shots of my car, nice and shiny.

I had a problem that my Volk rims would not fit over the stock STI Brembo's. I recently added a 332MM Stoptech brake kit. It is a thinner profile, and a lighter brake system. So a bit better performance, and it lets me get rid of the wheel spacers.

I had the brakes painted and the logo painted on the caliper.

VERY NICE!!... I haven't been on this site since i scrapped my Prelude Heap.. But I just picked up a 98 Legacy L that I've already started dumping some love into.. I actually used to have a 98 Limited, but the motor was a big pile of $#!+.. if ya get my drift.. (head gasket problems) so I ended up letting her go, and have always regretted it.. I loved that car, but I just didn't have the time, money, or accommodations to do what I really wanted to do with her. which was get a front clip off a JDM spec twin turbo and slap that sucker in.. It may take some time, but I'm making this my second chance.. And after seeing all the things that you've done to yours, its definitely inspiring! James ;)
